Game Frequency:

In age groups where we have enough athletes to field 2 or more teams, games will be scheduled every weekend, whether through intrasquads, local games, or tournaments.

If the roster size is smaller, there will be fewer scheduled weekends. Athletes may also have opportunities to play with other age groups for local games and intrasquads when space is available.

No athlete is required to play every weekend.

Intra squads:

Any intrasquad played during a regular scheduled practice is included in the team fee. In order to create a true game environment, we will also schedule select intrasquads with professional umpires, full pre-game warmups, and a more competitive structure.

Local Games:

Local games are played against other travel ball teams in the immediate area. These will be travel ball–level games, with competition matched appropriately based on player skill levels.

Tournaments:

For those new to travel baseball, tournaments typically include two games on Saturday and 1–3 games on Sunday, depending on performance. These events are usually within about an hour of travel and include teams from across the greater Bay Area.

In most age groups, only the top available players will be selected for tournament play (see age group details below). All athletes are not guaranteed tournament opportunities.

Why play FSB?

We have a tremendous coaching staff. This is our 10th year of travel ball and we have fantastic coaches. All of our regular coaches have years of experience at both the travel ball and high school level. We will develop your player. There isn’t space in this email to go over all the coaches and their merits. If you are in the baseball community just ask around. Our staff is as strong as can be.

We are a player first organization. We are flexible to let players play other sports and let players play with older kids if they are ready. Many organizations don’t let players play up but we always do what is best for the kid.

Communication. AJ Johnson serves as FSB’s full-time travel ball director and handles all travel ball operations. He regularly attends practices, allowing him to know the players and families throughout the program. Having a dedicated director helps ensure clear communication and keeps everything running smoothly.

The love of the game. FSB is a huge family. We create a love of the game because we know that baseball is supposed to be fun. The culture of FSB keeps kids engaged and almost all of our players continue to play baseball in High school and many play in college.

Fall SEASON

FSB TEAMS

This summer, FSB will offer travel ball programming for 10U–14U players, with the season running from September 7th – November 16th. Younger players may also sign up, but must contact Ben Mangan directly at (510) 710-0987 to schedule a tryout. Each age group will operate within a development-focused structure, with all players participating in a mix of double headers, tournaments, and intrasquad games, based on the overall skill level, readiness, and progression of the group. Our goal is to provide consistent reps, competitive opportunities, and the right level of challenge for each athlete while continuing to build toward higher levels of play across all age groups.

TRYOUTS:

To register for the tryout, there will be two steps needed by participants.

1)      Register through TeamSnap by using this link: https://go.teamsnap.com/forms/492918

2)      Pick a day to attend try outs on this form using this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1adurgNCLwoZCDRxVaGxuIOIrBP_F7hjfpAsuPD_ceW8/edit?gid=0#gid=0

Registration

This Summer FSB will be running 10u, 11u, 12u, and 14u teams.

Younger players may try out for older teams.

Each team will have two practices a week. One at the FSB batting cages in the Oakland Hills and one practice at the College of Alameda. (Up to 4 coaches scheduled at every practice)

Pricing

Team Fee: $600

Tournament Fee: $125 per tournament

Local Games & Dedicated Intrasquads (non-practice days): $35 per game

Uniform Cost: Approximately $125 per player

The travel ball new year is in August so all teams will age up. If you were 10u for the summer than your player is an 11u for the fall, etc.

All practice squad players on the summer 10u team get an automatic spot on the new 10u team (aged up) if they are 10u’s in age. If your son was playing up they can decide what team they want to play on.

Please register by 8/1. If that is tough financially, with only two weeks before the deadline but you want to play, reach out and we can set up a payment plan.

It will be $600 for the team fee and $135 for every tournament a player plays in and $35 for local games.

The cost is $500 to be on the practice squad and half that if you only want to do one day of practice a week. Practice squad players just practice and don’t play in games unless we don’t have enough players. Players must try out for the practice squad to ensure everyone is at the right level and practice runs efficiently.
