base running coach, former collegiate national all-starWhy play FSB Travel Ball?
We have a tremendous coaching staff. This is our 10th year of travel ball and we have fantastic coaches. All of our regular coaches have years of experience at both the travel ball and high school level. We will develop your player. There isn’t space in this email to go over all the coaches and their merits. If you are in the baseball community just ask around. Our staff is as strong as can be.
We are a player first organization. We are flexible to let players play other sports and let players play with older kids if they are ready. Many organizations don’t let players play up but we always do what is best for the kid.
Communication. This fall we have a travel ball director that this is his only job. AJ Johnson will be taking over and handle all travel ball direction as well as being at at least one practice for all the players so he will know all the kids in the program. Ben Mangan has been doing the admin with some assistance but as FSB has grown to the point we’re now ready to have a full time director to make sure everything goes smoothly.
The love of the game. FSB is a huge family. We create a love of the game because we know that baseball is supposed to be fun. The culture of FSB keeps kids engaged and almost all of our players continue to play baseball in High school and many play in college.
FSB Travel Ball FAQ'S
How far and often do we travel?
Traveling for FSB typically is no more than 2 hours. Players have tournaments every other weekend. We also sometimes play local scrimmages.
Are there Try Outs?
FSB has try outs prior to the beginning of every season for new players. If you are interested in trying out, please email FredMooreFSB@Gmail.com to have him send out our registration link. There is no cost to trying out.
What if I do not have the time?
FSB also has a practice squad for players who cannot make weekend games. Being on the practice squad also helps those who are new to the sport develop their skills through the guidance of expert coaches and reps against players their own age. For more information, please email FredMooreFSB@Gmail.com
How long are the seasons?
Seasons typically are 3-4 months long. We offer Spring, Summer and Fall ball seasons. Also, during the winter months, we offer Winter Work Outs to keep your player developing during the off season.
How Expensive is Travel Ball?
For cost, please email FredMooreFSB@Gmail.com. We also are aware that many players are playing other sports. Our program is designed to have individuals pay a standard team fee and only play for the tournaments/local games they play in.
Why is spring more expensive than fall for 12u and 13u?
It’s actually cheaper.  The spring season is about 1.5 times as long and has about 1.5 as many practices.  We haven’t raised fees in a long time although expenses are going up on my end.  We did raise the tournament fee by 5 dollars even though tournament prices have risen above what the increase will cover.  We have been able to have all adult coaches on the regular schedule (we do use teenagers for subs).  Adults are a lot more expensive to pay.  Although my expenses have risen tremendously over the last year or so I haven’t passed those expenses on to the families.  If you do the math its under 30 dollars per practice and thats under 15 an hour.  Cheaper than a baby sitter. Â
Can 12u and 13u do travel ball light?
Yes. Â If you only want to come to one practice a week we’ll halt the fee. Â We only charge you for the games you attend so regular game fees apply. Â Up to you how much you play.
Do I get reimbursed if my son is injured?
No. Â Staffing is set by the number of players and we do have budgets and other considerations based on the enrollment. Â Injuries are part of sports. Â There has been the option on all recent registrations to get the TeamSnap RegSaver insurance. Â It will be available on future registrations as well.
